Symptoms of Ocular Migraines: - Lateralized pain around the eye is accompanied by nausea and diplopia (double vision). - The neurologic disturbances rarely accompanying typical migraine symptoms become the sole manifestations of an attack (the migraine equivalent) and migraine medications prove helpful. Treatment for Ocular Migraine: - During attacks, many patients find it useful to rest in a quiet, darkened room, until the symptoms subside. - A simple analgesic (e.g., aspirin) taken right away often provides relief. - Cafergot, a combination of ergotamine tartrate and caffeine, is often particularly helpful. Ocular migraines are usually characterized by abnormal visual sensations like blurring of vision headache and eye strain headache. Oularmigraines are often noticed in people with the history of classic migraines and are at times followed by headache. The causes of ocular migraines are not yet understood. But, it can be said that due to abnormal stimulation of nerve cells of the brain these migraines can take place. They occur irregularly but repeatedly. They do not need any treatment.
