Until recently, the general theory on what causes
migraines rested solely on the idea that abnormalities of blood vessel
in the head were responsible for migraines. Now, however, experts tend
to believe that migraine starts with an underlying central nervous
system disorder, which, when triggered by various stimuli, sets off a
chain of neurologic and biochemical events, some of which subsequently
affect brain's vascular system. To know more about what causes
migraines, read Causes
Of Headaches: Light Sensitivity and Eyestrain.
There is a range of different kinds of headache, like cough
headache, hypertension headache, constant headache, pregnancy headaches
and alike. To cure headache, one should see a headache specialist and
maintain a headache diary besides practicing relaxation techniques. It
is usually the migraine patients who are most sensitive to light and in
whom glaring lights might trigger headaches. Especially slow
"flickering" lights rather than rapidly flickering ones cause a headache.
The conditions which put strain on the eyes can be working on computer or
watching television for too long, playing video games, or reading in
improper lighting conditions. But, apart from these, a poor posture,
stress, and long periods of concentration are also some of the headache
causes.
