Confusional Migraine Begins With a Sudden Bout of Headache |
Confusional migraine is usually a development in patients who are suffering from migraine headaches for quite sometime. The attack occasionally begins with a sudden bout of headache and is almost like a blow. Single blows are most common while multiple blows are very rare. Confusional migraine occurs in about 5% of patients who suffer from migraine. Though there is less chance of reoccurrence in the case of Confusional migraines, the underlying migraine ailment must be treated as soon as possible. The diagnosis can be completed only after an episode of the attack has been fully resolved and all other possibilities such as encephalopathy, tumors, etc have been ruled out by respective tests. The occurrence of a Confusional migraine attack might be anytime in a migraine patient. In very rare cases, it is frequent and known as Acute Confusional Migraine. It usually does not have nay warning signs and the time period of this attack cannot be predicted. The symptoms are visually very frightening and therefore may lead to some chaotic situation for the person. A person suffering from such an attack must confine himself in a cool, dark and quiet place to sleep.
